Wednesday

roberto.jpg ThumbnailAfter a hearty breakfast, the day begins with lessons on the importance of ingredients by a visit to some of the area's best producers. Spring or summer sessions visit a chianina cow farm & producer, or an artinsal shop in Pienza for a balsamic vinegar tasting, for example. Fall classes are more likely to stop at vineyards or an extra virgin olive oil fattoria. Lunch, depending on the day trip schedule is either taken picnic style or at a local trattoria. Visit the hilltown of Cortona and see it's Etruscan treasures.

Afternoons are reserved for hands-on instruction in the kitchen as you perfect each recipe. Copies of every recipe are available in English to take home. The courses focus on: creative antipasti, first courses of hand made pasta, succulent main dishes and out of this world desserts. Each session revolves around the freshest seasonal products available at the moment of your arrival.

The evening meal is a feast you helped create, accompanied by fine wines. During the Thursday night Gala Dinner, take your bows as you are applauded for what you have made by all the guests in the Hotel.

Thursday Morning

Breakfast & departure. Transportation to Terontola Train Station.  Wherever you are going, you can easily get there from her. Rome 2 hours by train, and Florence 1 hour and 20 minutes.

My guests say:

"Doumina gives you an up-close insiders view of the treasures surrounding the enchanted hill town of Cortona. You like olive oil? Meet a farmer who picks his olives, and the man who presses them. Art your thing? Listen to the passionate sermons of her guide, and real-life descendant of Cortona's own Luca Signorelli. Want to eat the way the heartiest Tuscans do? For breakfast, lunch, and dinner, you will. Guaranteed."

"...with Doumina, all i needed to do was enjoy myself! It was just amazing!"
