
Spend the day in Cortona, the city made famous by Francis Mayes and her book "Under the Tuscan Sun." Beginning in the morning with a city tour of this beautiful Etruscan City, the Etruscan Tombs, and the Magical Monastery of Le Celle.
After snack and wine at a paper shop in the center, where we continue on to the Old Olive Mill where they press the olives in the ancient way, with stones. It is a gift to see as this dying artisinal way of pressing which is being replaced by high-tech methods.
Then, induldge the afternoon away in a Pasta making class with organic wine produced by Roberto Russo. Learn to make Pici, called the poor mans pasta, and enjoy the fruit of your labors after with a 4-course dinner at this favorite agriturismo and restored 16th century convent, Parco Fiorito. Transportation back to your Hotel or to the train station for easy return to Florence. Train between Florence and Cortona runs every hour. Train station in Cortona is "Terontola." Includes pick up and drop off at local hotel or train station, city tour, snacks and wine tasting, pasta class and dinner. Timing can be arranged to your schedule, starting no later than Noon and ending at 9,30 pm in the evening.
